Delhi, Central Railway, West Central Railway register wins

Meerut, Feb 22 (UNI) Railway teams again exhibited superior stick work as Central Railway and West Central Railway (WCR) eves demolished Andhra Pradesh and hosts UP respectively while Delhi also registered a facile win over Sports Hostel, Lucknow at the All India Invitation Prize Money women hockey tourney here today.

In a Pool A match, Maridula R and Basanti Lakra of WCR toyed with the UP XI defence and struck hat-trick apiece to crush the hosts 7-0.

Earlier, Central Railway also defeated Andhra Pradesh by an identical margin. Sarita H hit a brilliant hat-trick against Andhra girls who lost their second match in as many days.

In the first match of the day, a second half hat-trick by Prem Lata did the trick for Delhi who opened their account by a 3-1 win over Sports Hostel, Lucknow.
