Dal Khalsa for judicial intervention in police killings
Jalandhar, Feb 23 (UNI) The Dal Khalsa has demanded that the judiciary take 'suo moto' notice of the ''extra judicial killings'' allegedly committed during period of militancy in Punjab by police cats under the garb of counter insurgency.
Talking to reporters here today, the party general secretary Kanwarpal Singh said that state Director General of Police S S Virk had himself admitted the facts about recruiting counter insurgents like Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi.
He said that his organisation would also raise the issue at the annual meeting of human rights groups to be held in Geneva next month.
The party also announced it would maintain distance from the proposed World Sikh Conference in Sirhind in Fatehgarh Sahib district from February 26 and said that this was being organised in violation of the to tenets of Sikhism.
