CPM demands judicial inquiry into killing of youths
New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) today demanded a time-bound judicial inquiry into the killing of four youths in Jammu and Kashmir allegdly in firing by the army while they were playing cricket.
Condemning the killing, the CPI (M) Polit Buro said the ''tragic incident'' and others like it would severy hamper any effort to win the confidence of the people of the valley.
It is therefore necessary for the government to order a time-bound judicial inquiry into the incident and take quick and firm action against those responsible, a statement said.
The killing of Amir Akbar, Shakir Wani, Ghulam Hassan Bhat and Samar Mir on Wednesday sparked protests in Dadipora near Handwara in Baramulla district.
