Jammu, Feb 24 (UNI) A sessions court here has issued a summons to model-cum-actress Anara Gupta, allegedly involved in a Porno-CD case, to be present in person to record her statement before it.

Taking cognisance of the damaging suit to the tune of Rs 50 lakh filed by Raj Rani Gupta, mother of Anara Gupta, the first additional district and sessions judge directed former Miss Jammu to make her presence in the court in person for recording her statement.

The summons was issued by the court when Raj Rani had appeared and filed an application on behalf of Anara Gupta, but the court issued a summons for securing the presence of Anara.

Anara Gupta had filed a damaging suit against a newspaper on a news item published on December 18, 2004.

Anara stated in the suit that due to the publication of said news she was defamed in the eyes of the people, claiming damages worth Rs 50 lakh.

Notably, Sanjay Dhar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu, had rejected the closure report filed by the crime branch in a much publicised Porno-CD case as not proved, but the court referred the reports of three laboratories and directed the Director General of Police for further investigation in the light of two out of three reports.
