Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Prices of copper and brass looked up on improved industrial demand in view of firm advice from global and domestic centres, traders at the metal exchange today said.

In ferrous category, prices of copper heavy and copper utensils rose by Rs 100 per quintal each on lesser stock supply. Similarly, brass utensils, brass cuttings and aluminium utensils also hiked by Rs 100 each due to lack of selling pressure by stockists induced by bulliish advice from overseas and upcountry markets.

In non-ferrous segment, copper wire bars, aluminium and zinc slab prices also gained by Rs 200, Rs 100 and Rs 100 respectively in line with copper prices. But nickel cathode eased modestly by Re one per kg on lack of fresh industrial users demand, traders added.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy-Rs 25,700, copper utensils-Rs 23,200, brass utensils-Rs 18,100, brass cuttings-Rs 19,100 and aluminium utensils-Rs 10,100.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars-Rs 27,900, aluminium ingots-Rs 12,900, zinc slab-Rs 12,600, lead ingots-Rs 6,200, tin slab-Rs 390 (per kg) and nickel cathode-Rs 761 (per kg).
