Congress to take government head on during Budget Session
Gandhinagar, Feb 22 (UNI) The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) at its meeting here today decided to adopt an aggressive posture to take on the treasury benches in the State Assembly during the Budget Session beginning tomorrow.
The meeting, chaired by Leader of the Opposition Arjun Modhvadia, decided to ''expose'' the BJP-ruled government's failures on different fronts, like stoppage of work on the Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP), and raising the state's internal debt to Rs 82,000-crore, the highest in the country.
Mr Modhvadia criticised the government for spending huge amounts on publicity and extravaganza for Navratri and Kite Festivals at the cost of public, and increasing primary school fees and textbooks prices.
The prices of onion and groundnut have touched rock bottom as the state frequently faces power shortages.
