Cong deplores conduct of BJP in the House
New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) The Congress today hailed the Rail Budget as a sensitive, comprehensive and balanced exercise, but conceded that in a large country like India no Rail Budget could be perfect.
Various interests of the different regions have to be balanced, but we believe the sensitive job has been done excellently, Congress Spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.
Stating that the Budget had focused on the common man,he said there was no increase in rail fare nor in rail freight. Besides new trains had been introduced. He also appreciated the service like Garib Rath in the Budget.
Criticising the conduct of the BJP members and their associates in the House during the Budget presentation, Mr Singhvi said his party condemned the behaviour which was ''disruptive, negative and obstructive.'' The Opposition Leader sat silently as a mute spectator showing active collusion with them on a non-issue, he said. ''The nation should judge the negative attitude of the BJP in and outside the House.'' Asked about the CPI-M members conduct, he said it was not disruptive nor negative. They had every right to having difference of opinion and they gave expression to it.
