CM asks cadre to gear up for Panchayat polls
Hyderabad, Feb 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today exhorted party activists to gear up for the coming Panchayat elections by highlighting the host of welfare programmes including the prestigious Indiramma scheme and NREGP to the people.
The party activists should shoulder the responsibility for taking the good work being done by the Government to the people, he underlined, while addressing the first meeting of the newly-constituted Coordination Committee to oversee the implementation of the NREGP at Gandhi Bhavan, the party headquarters.
Fifty lakh people would get jobs under the NREGP, he said, adding that ration cards, pension, houses and other basic facilities would be provided to every person under the INDIRAMMA scheme.
