CBI opposes Telgi's wife's bail plea

Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) The CBI today opposed the bail plea moved by Shahida Telgi, wife of the Abdul Karim Telgi,the prime accused in the multi-crore counterfeit stamp paper scam.

Additional Superintendent of Police (CBI) A Pashin, who is investigating case paer scam, in his reply to Justice V M kanade said prima facie material is available against Shahida and even a co-accused in his confessional statement had described her role, in the scam.

The details of various properties owned by her were disclosed in the affidavit, he added.

The official prayed that in view of her alleged active involvement in the case, she should not be released on bail as it could influence the ongoing investigation.

The matter will come up for hearing tomorrow.
