Cartoon row: UN asked to form code of conduct for countries
New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) The government was today urged to raise a demand in the United Nations for a code of conduct for member- states to prevent the cartoon row-like incidents in the future.
India should raise the need for a strict code of conduct for countries at the UN, said Maharashtra legislator Mohammed Arif Khan in a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The code of conduct will prevent anyone from hurting the religious sentiments of people, said Mr Khan.
The government should also ask Denmark to take ''strict action'' against the newspaper which published the offending cartoons, he said.
