Business Line re-launched with a new look

Chennai, Feb 24 (UNI) 'Business Line' the financial newspaper from 'The Hindu' Group of publications was re-launched with a new design at a function held here.

The more-than-decade-old Business Line seeks to improve content and widen the news coverage keeping in mind the readers' interest, Business Line Editor-in-Chief N Ram said in his welcome address yesterday.

He said respect for words, good story-telling structure and readability were among the core values for the redesigning project.

Mr Ram said this was the third redesign launch of the Group in a year, promising there was more to come.

Highighting the reasons for Business Line responding with 'new and imaginative ways', Joint Editor K Venugopal said the endeavour was to present a newspaper that valued reliable information more than speculation.

''The advent of cellular phones had changed the way of communication and newspapers have to adjust to the new type of reader-induced change. Business newspapers also should follow the suit,'' he said.

The Garcia Media, headed by Dr Mario Garcia, was instrumental in the redesign, the objective being enhancing the quality of the publication. Globally, the company had worked to change the presentation of nearly 500 newspapers.

Among the dignitaries who were present at the function were Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata, TVS Motor Company CMD Venu Srinivasan, Ashok Leyland Chairman R Shahney and Indian Bank CMD K C Chakrabarty.
