BJP demand discussion on Quattrocchi issue
New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) The Opposition BJP stalled the beginning of the question hour in the Lok Sabha today demanding an immediate discussion on the Quattrocchi issue.
Speaker Somnath Chatterjee adjourned the House till 1115 hrs after the BJP continued with the demand, raising slogans alleging that Congress president Sonia Gandhi was involved in the defreezing of the accounts of Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi in a London bank.
The issue was raised by BJP deputy leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra as soon as the House met for the day.
Mr Malhotra wanted to know who directed the Additional Solicitor General to go to London to defreeze Quattrocchi's accounts.
He said neither the Prime Minister not the Law Minister seemed to know about it.
Mr Chatterjee said it was an old issue, but since Mr Malhotra had given a notice on it, he would allow Mr Malhotra to raise it after the question hour, and also ask the government to reply to it.
As the BJP members continued with their demand, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1115 hrs.
