Bengal covers all municipal areas under community health scheme

Kolkata, Feb 24 (UNI) The West Bengal Government today brought 63 municipal bodies in the state under community health service scheme.

Announcing this at a joint press conference, Health Minister Surya Kanta Mishra and Urban Development Minister Ashok Bhattacharjee said the State Government had alloted for this project a total of Rs 58.30 crore for a period of three years.

They said the main objective of the scheme was to bring the people living below poverty line under the coverage of the scheme, which had so far been in force in 63 out of the total 126 municipal areas of the state.
