Azad asks legislators to raise issues of comman man
Jammu, Feb 22 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad asked the legislators to actively participate in the proceedings of the budget session to raise the issues of public importance.
While addressing a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) here yesterday, the Chief Minister said ''MLAs and MLCs should ensure their maximum presence in the House so that the problems of the people could be properly highlighted and discussed.'' Mr Azad said efforts should be made to utilise maximum time for deliberating matters pertaining to welfare and progress of the people of the state.
Lauding the Chief Minister for playing an important role in curbing corruption, the legislators appreciated his efforts during the past four months to eradicate exploitation and ensure healthy work culture and good governance.
A number of deputations from across the state also called on the Chief Minister and apprised him of their problems.
