Assam Company commences oil delivery from Amguri field

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Assam Company Ltd (ACL) has begun delivery of oil from its operated field in Amguri to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) refinery in Guwahati, Assam, about 115 km away.

The oil is being sold at the same price as a basket of crude oils with similar characteristics traded in the international market, a company release here said.

The oil produced from Amguri is first trucked to Oil India Ltd (OIL) facility at Moran which is connected to a main oil pipeline delivering oil directly to the Guwahati refinery.

The company has started installing permanent facilitates on the Amguri block to eliminate unnecessary flaring of gas.

Construction of pipeline, infrastructure and the central facilities is expected to complete in the second quarter of 2006.

Assam Company Ltd, along with its consortium partner also resumed production from its suspended Amguri oil and gas field.

ACL is also an operator for three discovered oil and gas fields located in Bihubar, Laxmijan and Barsilla in the Assam region.
