AP SHRCH to enquire into child marriages

Hyderabad, Feb 23 (UNI) The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has decided to hold an enquiry into alleged child marriages in the temple town of Sri Kalahasti in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

In a statement here today, Ms M A Vanaja of the Disha Centre for Social Justice claimed the SHRC had responded to complaints by her organisation, M V Foundation and Child Rights Protection Forum and decided to hold the enquiry on February 24.
