8692 posts approved in Maharashtra police
Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Maharashtra government today approved 8692 posts in the state police at an allocation of Rs 10.16 crore.
Among the posts approved are 3616 police constables, 1555 police havaldars, 832 drivers, 409 typists, 28 senior clerks, and 106 sailors.
An official release here said 300 posts will be filled in police training schools while 523 posts will be filled in the city transport section including 106 posts in Thane, Navi Mumbai -- 79, Pune -- 212, Nagpur -- 106, and Akola -- 20.
There will be 25 computer experts in the state CID and 41 new posts have been approved in the Economic Offences Wing.
Apart from this, 1320 posts will be filled in the Motor Transport department, the release added.
