50 pc DA to be merged with basic salary for UP power employees

Lucknow, Feb 24 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh energy minister Shiv Pal Singh Yadav today said that akin to other state government employees, 50 per cent of the Dearness Allowance will be merged with the basic salary for the workforce in the power department.

Addressing a meeting of the officials and employees of department, Mr Yadav said that the state cabinet decision of merging half of the DA with basic salary for state staff with retrospective effect from April one, 2004 will now be applicable for the power employees also.

He also said that vacancies existing in the department will be filled up shortly, while recreation of posts of engineers and employees abolished in the past was also on the cards.

Mr Yadav also assured the gathering of alleviating their woes soon.
