251 Class X examinees denied admit cards

Barrackpore, Feb 23 (UNI) With the class X examinations under West Bengal Board of Secondary Education slated for tomorrow, 251 students of Garulia Mills High School in North 24 Parganas district are yet to receive their admit cards.

The students and their guardians yesterday started agitating against the school authorities as they failed to provide admit cards.

The guardians alleged that school authorities took Rs 2500 to Rs 3000 from each student during filling up of Madhyamik examination applications.

The guardians have moved to Calcutta High Court against the board and the school authorities. A division bench of the Chief Justice was likely to hear the case today.

Headmaster of the 115-year-old school Sadananda Shaw was not available for comment as to why the applicants were denied admit cards.
