10-yr imprisonment to two for smuggling opium
Mandsaur, MP, Feb 24 (UNI) A special court has awarded ten-year imprisonment to two people on the charge of smuggling opium and also imposed a fine Rs one lakh each.
According to the prosecution, police recovered around seven quintal of opium from three people - Gajanand, Ramlal and Govind Singh --while searching a truck on July 9, 2002. Later, the police arrested the three and seized the opium.
Judge J A Shotriya delivered the verdict against Ramlal and Gajanand on February 22, while Govind was acquitted.
