Van Morrison calls Beatles 'meaningless'
London, Mar 5 (ANI): Irish singer Van Morrison has slammed legendary band 'The Beatles', saying that the Fab Four's music was "meaningless" to him.
The veteran star insisted that the 'Hey Jude' hitmakers were "peripheral" in the history of music.
Morrison has claimed that the 1960s superstars should not be revered as the pioneers of pop, as musicians before them also produced great music.
"You measure things in terms of the Beatles. We don't think music started there," the Daily Express quoted Morrison as saying.
He added: "The Beatles were peripheral. If you had more knowledge of music, it didn't really mean anything. To me, it was meaningless." (ANI)
