Board of Peace: Trump invites Modi to steer Gaza governance within a broad Middle East peace roadmap
US President Donald Trump has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join a new Board of Peace. The proposed international body is linked to a wider ceasefire framework between Israel and Hamas. It is designed to guide Gaza’s future governance and support conflict resolution efforts in other troubled regions.
The invitation, addressed personally to Modi, has been shared publicly by Sergio Gor, the US Ambassador to India. Gor posted the letter on X, where Trump’s initiative has drawn global attention. The Board forms part of a 20-point peace roadmap for the Middle East, which Trump announced on September 29.
Trump’s letter underlined that the United Nations Security Council has supported the wider plan through Resolution 2803. The communication stressed that governments must convert this framework into concrete steps. Trump wrote, "At the heart of the Plan is The Board of Peace, the most impressive and consequential Board ever assembled," presenting it as both an International Organization and a Transitional Governing Administration.
The Board of Peace is expected to promote stability and lawful administration in Gaza, after years of military conflict. Earlier outlines described a body that would supervise governance and coordinate funding for Gaza’s reconstruction. The Financial Times reported that the same structure may later address other conflicts, where fragile institutions and security concerns persist.

Trump has said the Board will bring together countries willing to invest in a secure regional future. He stated, "We will convene our wonderful and committed partners, most of whom are Highly Respected World Leaders, in the near future." According to the Trump administration, the Board will supervise implementation of the 20-point plan and ensure international coordination.
An executive board has been set up to run daily operations linked to this vision. Its members include political leaders, officials and financial experts from different institutions. The group is tasked with turning the Gaza plan into a functioning system that can attract investment and support.

The Board is expected to oversee Gaza’s transition from conflict towards a deradicalised zone that poses no regional threat. It will mobilise international resources, supervise strategic planning and monitor accountability. A separate body, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), will work under this framework, focusing on everyday governance and economic prospects.
The executive board will supervise NCAG’s work so that Gaza’s administration remains stable and transparent. Trump’s proposal seeks cooperation from world leaders who support practical peace-building in Gaza and beyond. Sergio Gor wrote on X that the Board would back effective governance for stability and prosperity in Gaza, as global partners, including India, consider their roles in this plan, with inputs from PTI.
