U.S. ATTACKS China's HENGLI Oil Refinery For Iran Oil Deal | 40 Ships And Firms HIT Hard Amid War Talks
United States has imposed sweeping sanctions on China’s Hengli Refinery, accusing it of purchasing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Iranian crude oil and indirectly financing Iran’s military operations. In a major escalation, Washington has also targeted nearly 40 ships and companies linked to Iran’s “shadow fleet,” a covert oil transport network used to bypass inte ational sanctions. US officials say the crackdown is aimed at cutting off Tehran’s key revenue streams, while increasing pressure on global intermediaries involved in oil trade. At the same time, the US Navy has intensified operations near Iranian ports, adding military pressure alongside economic restrictions. China has strongly rejected the move, calling it political interference and an abuse of economic power, wa ing that sanctions against its refiners are destabilizing global energy markets. With Iran heavily dependent on oil exports and China remaining one of its biggest buyers, the confrontation is raising fears of a widening economic and geopolitical clash with global consequences.
