Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is at the centre of a political and religious controversy after a video circulating on social media allegedly showed a man resembling him holding a glass of alcohol in front of portraits of Sikh Gurus and other revered Sikh figures. The video sparked criticism from Sikh organizations and opposition parties, while Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed that the video was AI-generated and fabricated. The controversy intensified after the Akal Takht reviewed the available material and issued its decision. Separately, questions were raised about certain forensic reports cited in defense of the AI claim. An FIR has since been registered regarding the alleged fake forensic reports, and the investigation remains ongoing.
