An Iran-linked hacking group known as Handala has claimed responsibility for leaking the identities and personal details of 69 Israeli Navy officers online, accusing them of participating in the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla near Cyprus. The group escalated tensions further by announcing a $100,000 bounty for each officer named in the leak. The flotilla, carrying activists and humanitarian aid for Gaza, was intercepted by Israeli forces in May 2026, sparking inte ational controversy and allegations of abuse during detention. Israel denied the accusations, while Handala issued direct threats toward Israeli officials including Itamar Ben-Gvir amid rapidly escalating cyber and regional tensions.
