Iran DEMANDS Kuwait To Free Four Detained Citizens in Gulf; Calls Attacks on Iranian Boat ‘Unlawful’

Tensions in the Gulf are spiraling again after Iran accused Kuwait of unlawfully attacking an Iranian vessel and detaining four Iranian citizens near the strategically vital Bubiyan Island. Kuwait claims the men were linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and attempted an infiltration mission involving “hostile acts.” Authorities say those detained include senior Iranian military personnel, while two suspects reportedly escaped following an armed clash that injured a Kuwaiti soldier. But Tehran is rejecting the allegations outright. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi insists the vessel was on a routine maritime patrol and accidentally drifted into Kuwaiti waters due to a navigation system failure. Araghchi has demanded the immediate release of the detainees and wa ed that Iran “reserves the right to respond,” raising fears of a dangerous new confrontation in the already volatile Gulf region.
