Not Love Jihad, Married As Per Hindu Customs: Mahakumbh Girl Monalisa's First Reaction

In her first reaction to media after her marriage on Wednesday, viral girl from Mahakumbh Monalisa Bhonsle has said that she is married as per the Hindu customs and denied 'Love Jihad' angle.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, she said, "I got married according to Hindu rituals. It is not 'love jihad'. I respect all religions and consider every religion equal," says Viral Mahakumbh girl Monalisa.

She married Farman Khan at the Arumanoor Temple in Kerala. The newly-married couple appeared before the media in Kerala on Thursday.

At the press conference, Khan pointed out that they have not changed their religions, putting an end to the 'Love Jihad' angle.

Monalisa Bhonsle's journey from the ghats of Prayagraj to the film sets of Mumbai is a modern-day digital odyssey. A native of Indore, she first captivated the internet during the Mahakumbh Mela, where videos of her selling garlands and bangles went viral. Recently, Bhonsle's personal life took a dramatic turn in Kerala. She approached the Thampanoor Police Station seeking protection, alleging that her father was attempting to force her back to Indore against her will.
