A wandering Brahmin, upon reaching Chavara Thekkumbhagom, collaborated with a skilled carpenter named Koyippurathu Nambeesan Aasari to construct the temple. The Brahmin invoked Goddess Bhadrakali, leading to the temple's establishment on land owned by the Valayaappallil family. Historical records suggest that the temple was built under the supervision of Manjippuzha Thamburan. In 1946, the Travancore Government assumed management of the temple.
