The Annapoorneswari Temple was originally a Vishnu/Krishna temple, dating back 1500 years. It was later dedicated to Annapoorneswari by Avittam Thirunal Raja Raja Varma of Chirakkal Kovilakam. The temple is now under the Malabar Devaswom Board.
