Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 'Poster Boy' Rahul Chaudhari Announces Retirement

Rahul Chaudhari, known as the 'Poster Boy of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), has announced his retirement. He made this decision after going unsold in the PKL season 11 auction. Rahul has been a prominent figure in the sport since 2010 and has garnered a massive fan following over the years.

Rahul's PKL journey began with the Telugu Titans, where he set numerous records. Throughout his career, he played for four franchises: Telugu Titans, Tamil Thalaivas, Puneri Paltan, and Jaipur Pink Panthers. Despite his illustrious career, no team picked him in the 2024 auction.

In addition to his PKL achievements, Rahul was also the captain of the Indian Kabaddi team at the Beach Asian Games in 2014 held in Thailand. He led the Uttar Pradesh team to a Gold medal victory at the National Kabaddi Championship in 2015. Furthermore, he was part of the Indian squad that clinched Gold at the South Asian Games in 2016 and played a crucial role in India's Gold medal win at the Kabaddi World Cup that same year.

Despite his success, Rahul expressed regret about not participating in the UPKL tournament. He even discussed this with his coach, who advised against it by saying, "You are a player of another level." This sentiment highlights Rahul's high standing in the sport.

Before announcing his retirement from PKL after season 11, Rahul had already hinted at stepping away from the league. However, failing to attract any franchise bids this year solidified his decision to retire from PKL. Fans can still look forward to seeing him represent India on national platforms.
