The Prime Minister also appreciated Divya Thadigol, Esha Singh and Palak on winning a silver medal in women’s 10m air pistol team event.

On September 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media platform X to congratulate India's medal winners at the Asian Games. The country's shooters have been particularly successful, achieving podium finishes across various events and bringing great pride to the nation.

Asian Games Medal Winners

Among those lauded by the prime minister was Palak Gulia who won gold in the women's 10m air pistol event. "Her precision and focus have brought immense pride to our nation," said Modi. He described her victory as a 'special moment' for India in shooting.

Record-Breaking Victory

The Indian marksmen also made their presence felt in the 50m rifle arena, with an unprecedented success that saw them set a new world record. The men's 3-positions team comprising young talents Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran overcame their Chinese counterparts with a world record score of 1769 points, securing top position on the podium.

"It was a stupendous win," declared Modi while praising this exceptional achievement. "They have shown exceptional determination and teamwork."

A Silver Lining

In addition to Gulia’s gold-winning performance, there were other notable achievements in shooting as well. Divya Thadigol, Esha Singh and Palak bagged silver medals in the women’s 10m air pistol team event. This accomplishment did not go unnoticed by PM Modi who expressed his belief that their triumph would inspire future sportspersons from India.

Esha Singh received individual praise from PM Modi for winning another silver medal in the individual category of the same event - women’s 10m air pistol competition – further enhancing Indian shooting contingent’s impressive haul at these games.

Conclusion

The Prime Minister's congratulatory messages reflect the nation's pride and joy in its athletes' achievements at the Asian Games. The success of Indian shooters, in particular, has been remarkable, setting new records and bringing home numerous medals. These victories not only highlight India's growing prowess in shooting but also serve as an inspiration for future generations of sportspersons. As India continues to make strides on the global sports stage, it is clear that with focus, determination and teamwork - as exemplified by these victorious athletes - there is no limit to what can be achieved.
