Mumbai to Celebrate T20 World Cup Victory with Grand Road Show

Police have arranged extensive security for the T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team's road show in Mumbai on Thursday evening, an official stated on Wednesday. The team will participate in an open bus road show followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in South Mumbai after arriving from New Delhi.

The victory procession is scheduled between 5 and 7 pm from Nariman Point to the Wankhede Stadium, the official mentioned. With a large number of cricket fans expected to gather, police are taking utmost precautions to prevent any incidents. Adequate police personnel will be deployed along Marine Drive between Nariman Point and the Wankhede Stadium.

Security Measures for Victory Procession

The Indian team is set to reach New Delhi early on Thursday morning at 6:20 am after departing from Barbados Grantley Adams International Airport on a chartered flight with a special call sign - AIC24WC - Air India Champions 24 World Cup. The departure was delayed due to Hurricane Beryl.

The team has left Barbados on a special Air India flight hired by the BCCI. Indian journalists who were stuck in Barbados are also on the same flight, along with BCCI president Roger Binny and secretary Jay Shah, who are overseeing all arrangements, according to BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla.

Special Arrangements for Team's Arrival

The flight will land at Delhi airport tomorrow at 6 am. The team will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11 am at his residence. After this meeting, the team will fly to Mumbai for the ceremony.

"There will be a road show from Nariman Point in an open bus and later we will honour and felicitate the players with the prize money of Rs 125 crore as announced," Shukla added.

As fans eagerly await the arrival of their cricket heroes, authorities are ensuring that all necessary measures are in place for a smooth and safe event. The elaborate security arrangements reflect the significance of this celebration for both the team and their supporters.
