However, his plans changed when he received a call from skipper Suryakumar Yadav. "Two days," Surya said, "Pack your bags and come to Mumbai." Siraj initially thought it was a joke and replied, "Brother, please don't joke as this won't happen." But Surya insisted, "I am telling you the truth, get ready."

Siraj's disbelief continued until India selector Pragyan Ojha also contacted him. Reflecting on his unexpected return to the team, Siraj shared his story after taking three wickets in India's 29-run victory against the USA in the T20 World Cup opener. He expressed that whatever is destined by the almighty cannot be altered.

Real Madrid Plans and Ramadan

When asked about his February break plans after playing a few Ranji Trophy matches for Hyderabad, Siraj mentioned he intended to watch a Real Madrid game on the 15th. Following that, he planned to observe Ramadan. However, he reiterated that destiny had other plans for him.

Adrian Le Roux, the team's strength and conditioning coach, had messaged Siraj about his plans. Siraj responded that he needed rest after playing two four-day games and would decide on future plans later. He was not expecting a call-up since he wasn't in India's initial plans for the tournament.

Unexpected World Cup Call-Up

Siraj found it hard to believe he was selected for the World Cup squad. "It felt like a dream when I was on the flight," he said. The planning for the tournament had been ongoing for a year, with selected players getting opportunities. Since Siraj hadn't played T20Is recently, he assumed he wouldn't be part of it.
