Rinku, Surya Star as India Reach 180 in Rain-Curtailed 2nd T20I
Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav starred with the bat as India posted a competitive 180/7 in the rain-affected 2nd T20I against South Africa in Gqeberha.

Gqeberha, South Africa - In the second T20 International against South Africa on Tuesday, Rinku Singh showcased his finishing prowess with a maiden half-century, while skipper Suryakumar Yadav displayed his signature style to propel India to a competitive total of 180 for seven.
India's Steady Start
After being put in to bat, India faced an early setback as they lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill for a mere six runs. However, Suryakumar Yadav took charge and led from the front, scoring a quickfire 56 off 36 deliveries. He forged crucial partnerships with Tilak Varma (29 off 20) and Rinku Singh (68 not out off 39) to resurrect India's innings.
Rinku Singh's Impressive Knock
Making his debut in South Africa, Rinku Singh initially took his time to settle in. However, he soon found his rhythm and played some delightful shots. His square of the wicket shots were particularly impressive, and he also cleared the boundary twice with straight sixes off Aiden Markram.
Surya and Rinku's Partnership
Coming in at number three, Tilak Varma looked promising but was unfortunately caught at deep third man in the sixth over. Following this, Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh combined for a 70-run partnership that revived India's innings. Surya continued his aggressive approach, collecting many of his runs behind the wicket. He struck three sixes, two of which were in the fine leg region and one over midwicket.
Early Setbacks for India
India's innings did not start smoothly, as they lost both Jaiswal and Gill in the first two overs. Jaiswal's cut shot against Marco Jansen was brilliantly caught by David Miller at backward point. Gill, on the other hand, was trapped in front by Lizaad Williams, who managed to get the ball to nip back from length.
Aggressive Batting Despite Pressure
Despite these early setbacks, the Indian batters maintained an aggressive approach. They continued to take risks and put pressure on the South African bowlers. This aggressive mindset allowed India to reach a respectable total of 180 for seven, setting the stage for an exciting contest in the second T20I.
With Rinku Singh's maiden half-century and Suryakumar Yadav's consistent brilliance, India managed to post a challenging total on the board. However, the match was interrupted by rain with three balls remaining in the innings, and South Africa were set a revised target of 152 in 15 overs. The outcome of the match now hangs in the balance, and fans can expect a thrilling encounter as the two teams battle it out in the second T20I.
