WPL 2024: Shabnim Ismail Bowls Fastest Delivery Ever In Women's Cricket
The Women's Premier League has set the standards of cricket high and entertaining fans with nail-biting encounters every day. Players are registering their names in record books daily with outstanding performances. In match number 12, played between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium, former South African speedster Shabnim Ismail delivered the fastest ball ever recorded in women's cricket.
Ismail's delivery thundered at a staggering speed of 132.1km/h (82.08mph), which hit straight onto the pads of Australia cricketer and Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning.

The South African pace sensation recently bid adieu to international cricket. Previously, Ismail bowled at a speed of 128km/h (79.54mph) against the West Indies in 2016 and 127km/h twice during the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in 2022.
After achieving the milestone, Shabhnam Ismail, in the post-match conversation, said, she doesn't pay much attention to the big screen while bowling, instead tries to focus on line and length and that's the only secret to her success.
However, despite Ismail's remarkable display of speed, could not avoid Mumbai's 29-run defeat against the Delhi Capitals. She managed to pick only one wicket allowing 46 runs off her four expensive overs.
The Delhi Capitals continued its winning momentum and dominance in the tournament as they are at top of the table with 4 wins and 8 points.
In the WPL inaugural match, Harmanpreet Kaur's Mumbai Indians had clinched victory of the last ball with a sixer, but this time Delhi managed to avenge the first match defeat.
