Women's Cricket World Cup Schedule: ICC Announces Match Dates, Venues; Pakistan Matches In Colombo
The Women's ODI World Cup is returning to India after 12 years, scheduled from September 30 to November 2. This tournament will see matches played across five venues in India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan's matches are set for Colombo, while Bengaluru, Guwahati, Indore, and Visakhapatnam will host the rest of the games.
Key Venues and Schedule
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the tournament will feature eight teams: India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The opening match will take place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The first semi-final is slated for October 29 in either Guwahati or Colombo, depending on Pakistan's progress.

Bengaluru is also set to host the final on November 2. However, if Pakistan reaches the final, it will be held in Colombo. This arrangement stems from a reciprocal agreement between the BCCI and PCB before this year's Champions Trophy.
Defending Champions and India's Aspirations
Australia enters as the defending champions, having secured their seventh title in the last edition. In contrast, India's best performance was reaching the final in 2017 but losing to England at Lord's. The Indian team aims to clinch the trophy this time on home soil under Harmanpreet Kaur's leadership.
The last time India hosted this prestigious event was in 2013 when they were eliminated during the group stage. This year presents a fresh opportunity for India to perform well in front of their fans.
Pakistan's decision not to travel to India is part of an earlier agreement with BCCI. Their matches being held in Colombo ensures that all teams can participate without logistical issues.
