Watch: English Fan Sings Beatles-Style Song For Akash Deep After 10-Wicket Haul

Indian pacer Akash Deep's career-best performance at Edgbaston has not only drawn praise from cricketing circles but also inspired a unique tribute from an English fan. After India's emphatic 336-run victory over England in the second Test, a local supporter was seen singing a customised version of The Beatles' "Let It Be," with lyrics celebrating the 28-year-old pacer's match-winning display. The video has since gone viral on social media.

Akash Deep, who was brought in for the rested Jasprit Bumrah, made the most of his opportunity by claiming 10 wickets for 187 runs over the two innings. He took 4 for 88 in the first innings and followed it up with 6 for 99 in the second. His efforts were instrumental in helping India level the five-match series 1-1 after losing the first Test at Leeds.

Standing outside Edgbaston after the match, the English fan sang the Akash Deep-inspired song, which quickly gained traction online and was widely appreciated by cricket fans for its spontaneous and sporting spirit.

India's bowling attack, which had raised concerns in Bumrah's absence, rose to the occasion with both Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj performing exceptionally. Siraj took six wickets in the first innings and finished the match with a total of seven.

Following the match, Akash Deep dedicated his 10-wicket haul to his sister, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. "My sister has been diagnosed with cancer and the last two months have been very difficult. I dedicate this match to her. I want to see her smile and hope this helps," he said. "Every time I ran in to bowl, I saw her face in my mind."

Despite being only his eighth Test appearance, Akash Deep's composure and effectiveness under pressure stood out. His emotional revelation added a deeply personal layer to what was already a standout performance on a challenging pitch.

Captain Shubman Gill led the batting effort with a total of 430 runs across both innings, anchoring India's dominance in the match. The team's strong batting and complete bowling effort secured a convincing win and reignited hopes in the series.

India now prepares for the third Test at Lord's, scheduled to begin on July 10. The team will look to carry forward the momentum gained at Edgbaston as the series moves to one of cricket's most iconic venues.
