Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni Among Highest Tax Payers
Virat Kohli emerged as the top tax-paying sportsperson in India for the financial year 3-24, contributing ₹66 crore in taxes, according to Fortune India. Following him is MS Dhoni, who paid ₹38 crore despite retiring from international cricket in 2020 and only playing in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings.
Kohli, currently on a break after his recent ODI series against Sri Lanka, leads the list of highest-tax-paying sports personalities in India. Dhoni remains a significant earner in Indian cricket, securing the seventh position among top taxpayers.

Top Tax-Paying Celebrities
Shah Rukh Khan tops the list of highest tax-paying Indian celebrities with ₹92 crore. 'Thalapathy' Vijay follows closely with ₹80 crore. Salman Khan comes next, paying ₹75 crore in taxes. Amitabh Bachchan contributes ₹71 crore.
Ajay Devgn's tax payment stands at ₹42 crore. Ranbir Kapoor has paid ₹36 crore. Both Sachin Tendulkar and Hrithik Roshan have each contributed ₹28 crore. Kapil Sharma's tax amounts to ₹26 crore.
Sourav Ganguly has paid ₹23 crore in taxes. Kareena Kapoor's contribution is ₹20 crore. Shahid Kapoor, Mohanlal, and Allu Arjun each paid ₹14 crore. Hardik Pandya's tax totals ₹13 crore.
Income from Various Sources
Kohli's net worth is estimated to exceed ₹1,000 crore as of 2024. His wealth primarily stems from his cricket career, including contracts with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and his participation in the IPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Kohli's income is further boosted by endorsements with major global brands like Puma, Audi, and MRF. He also co-founded the fitness brand 'One8' in collaboration with Puma.
Kiara Advani has paid ₹12 crore in taxes. Katrina Kaif and Pankaj Tripathi each contributed ₹11 crore. Aamir Khan and Rishabh Pant both paid ₹10 crore.
