Vinod is Vulnerable: Andrea Kambli Makes Big Revelation About Her Husband’s Condition
Andrea Hewitt, married to the former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, disclosed she had initiated divorce proceedings but later decided against it upon witnessing her husband's vulnerable condition amid his alcohol dependency struggles. Hewitt, a model and Kambli's second spouse following his previous marriage to Noella Lewis, shared insights into their personal life, highlighting the challenges they face due to Kambli's addiction and financial difficulties. Kambli, whose cricket career concluded in 2009, has reportedly sought rehabilitation more than a dozen times and was recently admitted to a hospital in Thane for treatment.

The couple's love story began when Kambli was captivated by Hewitt after spotting her on a billboard, leading to their nuptials in a private ceremony in 2006. Together, they have two children, Jesus Christiano Kambli and Johanna. Despite the familial bliss, navigating life with Kambli's health issues has been a tough task for Hewitt. She expressed the dual role she plays in their household, acting both as a mother and a father figure, especially to their son, Christiano, who has been understanding of the situation.
In a candid revelation on a podcast hosted by freelance journalist Suryanshi Pandey, Hewitt opened up about her internal conflict regarding leaving Kambli. "I once thought about it (separating). But I realized that he would be helpless if I leave him," she stated, reflecting on the depth of her concern for Kambli's well-being. The model described how she felt compelled to care for Kambli, likening him to a child in need of constant attention and support. Her commitment to staying by his side underscores the complexities of dealing with a partner battling addiction.
Christiano, their son, also shared his perspective during the interview, touching on his efforts to support his mother's mental health and provide care for his father. His remarks shed light on the family's collective effort to navigate the challenges posed by Kambli's condition.
Recently, at the 50th-anniversary celebration of Wankhede Stadium, organized by the Mumbai Cricket Association, Hewitt was seen assisting Kambli, highlighting the physical toll his struggles have taken on him. The event, where former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar honored Kambli, underscored the cricket community's ongoing support for one of its own amidst his personal difficulties.
