This Senior RCB Player Announces Retirement After Bengaluru Gets Eliminated From IPL 2024
Senior Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricketer Dinesh Karthik, who played several iconic innings for his team in the Indian Premier League has big adieu to the franchise league. A day after RCB got eliminated from the race of IPL 2024 facing a 4-wicket defeat against Rajasthan Royals in Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi stadium. Karthik, who had already dropped a hint that IPL 2024 would be his last season, received a guard of honour from his teammates after the conclusion of the match.
Dinesh Karthik made his IPL debut 16 years ago and is still one of the fittest cricketers who has given everything to the sport. He is known for playing big shorts and has snatched victory several times from the jaws of his opponent. One of the finest finishers for RCB.

Notably, Dinesh Karthik hasn't said anything about his retirement yet, but the league's broadcaster confirmed the news. Soon after the news went viral, good luck wishes and messages from RCB and DK fans started to pour in.
Sharing a post, Jio Cinema said " Thank You DK. 16 Years, 6 Teams, and Endless memories." The post also mentioned "just retired".
Karthik holds the record of 2nd most dismissals by a wicketkeeper and 3rd most appearances record in the history of IPL.
During his glittering career, Karthik scored 4,842 runs in 257 matches, studded with 22 blitzkrieg fifties. In his illustrious IPL career that spanned over 17 years, Karthik featured for six franchises starting with Delhi Capitals, then Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and finally with RCB in the cash-rich league.
This season also, he scored 326 runs in 15 matches with an impressive strike rate of 187.36.
