This Is What BCCI Officials Asked Gautam Gambhir And WV Raman In Team India's Head Coach Interview
The Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) conducted the interviews for Team India's head coach this week. For the top position is the coaching staff, only two candidates showed up. First was former cricketer and commentator Gautam Gambhir, who was also the mentor for IPL 2024 winning side Kolkata Knight Riders, and second contender was former Women's team coach WV Raman.
Gautam Gambhir attended the interview virtually, while WV Raman was present at the BCCI headquarters physically.

The cricket governing body conducted these interviews as they are finding a perfect replacement for current head coach Rahul Dravid.
Surely, it is going to be a tough call for the board members to appoint the right man for this job. However, sources indicate that Gautam Gambhir is a step ahead in the race.
But everyone is curious to know what questions the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) asked to Gambhir and Raman.
Reportedly, CAC members evaluated both candidates on the basis of their responses to these 3 questions:
- What are your ideas regarding the coaching staff of the team?
- With a few aging players in both the batting and bowling departments, how will you handle the transition phase?
- What are your views on split captaincy, fitness parameters concerning workload management, and addressing the team's failure to win ICC trophies?
Though their responses were not made public, but WV Raman's wishes to Gambhir indicated that the former Indian opener is likely to get the job.
"I've always rated Gautam Gambhir as one of the best captains in the IPL. He's always been intense and tactically sound. His success comes purely from his own efforts. He is committed to cricket and does not try to conform to others' expectations. If he takes up the India role, I wish him all the very best," Raman had told the media.
Gautam Gambhir fans on social media platforms have also been demanding that he should take up the job. Notably, he has to give up on his contracts with IPL franchises.
