Test Vs T20 Cricket: South African Legend's Big Statement On Virat Kohli
Days after Australian legend Steve Waugh raised a flag to save the deteriorating test cricket, former South Africa cricketer Brian McMillan joined the course. The old-school cricketer represented South Africa in 78 ODIs and 38 Tests.
Concerns to save the red ball format were raised after cricket bodies started giving priority to shorter games for early results. It was noticed that poor pitches were curated on many occasions to achieve desirable results, which is also a kind of tempering and against the spirit of sport.

McMillan lauded former Indian skipper Virat Kohli for his approach towards the game and how he gives priority to the traditional format.
"I think it's a world feel that you have to give priority to one's country and I think India has been doing it quite well. You finding Kohli and boys playing Test cricket is great. You do not find them putting out Tests to play BBL. Test cricket will be threatened, but I suppose, it will remain the ultimate game," McMillan said.
He asserted that the T20 format is also important but nothing should come in the way of a test, that strengthens the roots of the game.
"I hope modern players are making enough money otherwise it's very difficult to do business. It is very hard on players. One of our guys (Heinrich Klaasen) retired now and will obviously play in the T20 league and I have got my views on how countries should run their players in essence. People make a name on essence," McMillan added.
