Ticket sales for the 2026 edition of the T20 World Cup opened on Thursday, giving fans an early chance to book seats for the tournament scheduled from February 7 to March 8.

India and Sri Lanka will share hosting duties, with matches planned across eight prominent cricket venues.

ICC Sets Focus on Affordability

Cricket followers will notice a major shift in pricing for the first phase, with rates kept intentionally low to encourage wider participation. The initiative is part of the ICC's effort to ensure that more than two million tickets remain within reach of spectators in both countries.

ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta stated: "Phase I of ticket sales is an important milestone in our journey towards delivering the most accessible and global ICC event ever staged. Our vision for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is clear: every fan, regardless of background, geography or financial means, should have the chance to access an in-stadia experience of world-class marquee cricket. The sale of tickets for Phase I will begin at 6:45 PM IST."

He further said: "With tickets starting from just ₹100 and LKR1000, we are putting affordability at the centre of our strategy. This is about opening the gates wide and inviting millions to be part of a global celebration of cricket, not as spectators from afar, but as active participants in the energy, emotion and magic that only a stadium can offer."

Where the Matches Will Be Played

The competition will span key cricketing hubs. India will host games in Ahmedabad, Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Sri Lanka will welcome fans to two venues in Colombo along with matches staged in Kandy.
