India vs Sri Lanka Squad Announcement: Big-hitting batter Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as the captain of the Indian T20 team for the three-match series against Sri Lanka starting July 27, with Shubman Gill named as his deputy for the three-match series. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are included in the ODI squad, with Rohit captaining the side. Shubman Gill will serve as vice-captain for the ODI series as well. Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the series.

It must be noted that Suryakumar was in line to captain the side in the T20Is as the selectors weren't sure if they should appoint Hardik Pandya who was the vice-captain of the squad that won the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies in June.
