Stuart Broad Reacts To Virat Kohli's Absence From India Vs England Test Series

Ace Indian batsman Virat Kohli, who has taken a break from cricket following some personal reasons, is being missed by his fans, teammates, and opponents equally. Ahead of the third test of the five-match series, slated for Rajkot from February 15 to 19, 2024, former English captain Stuart Broad has come up in support of Virat Kohli.

Talking to news agency IANS, Stuart Broad said family should always be the first priority and everyone should respect Virat Kohli's personal space. However, he added that without Virat Kohli, the India vs England Test series is colorless, which could have been a very good series.

He also marked Virat Kohli's absence as an opportunity for other players to shine and encash the opportunity to prove their metal.

"It's a shame for the series that he will be missing but India has won the last Test. Kohli is such a quality player, his passion, his fire, but obviously, personal matters always take precedence. But it gives a great opportunity to young players also. So someone in the Indian batting line-up will stand up at some stage," Stuart Broad said.

England and India have leveled the scores 1-1 after winning the Hyderabad and Vizag tests, respectively.

Earlier this week, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ended all the speculations about Virat Kohli's return as they announced the squad for the next three tests which will be played at Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharmshala.
The board has again requested media, fans, and followers to respect Virat Kohli's decision and allow him private time with family.
