Sourav Ganguly's Blunt Statement On Rohit Sharma And Men, Read What He Said

There's a saying for every sportsperson, 'the form is temporary, but class is permanent'. Something similar happened when Team India lost Centurion Test in a heartbreaking manner, and then bounced back at Cape Town. The so-called cricket critics who were showing red eyes to Rohit Sharma and company, for unexpectedly losing the first test, were answered by Team India members at Cape Town when visitors crushed the Proteas challenge. But there were some cricket lovers who kept believing in team's capabilities and talent.

Replying to former England captain Michael Vaughan's "underachieving team" statement, Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly said a loss does not change the fact that India is a great team. He also expressed happiness with the team's performance on the South Africa tour, where Men In Blue won the ODI series and managed to share the honors in the T20 series. One match of the T20 series was washed out without even a single ball being bowled.

Two two-match test series also ended in a draw.

Before Ganguly, Ravichandran Ashwin pointed his guns towards Vaughan, calling Team India one of the best traveling sides in contemporary cricket.

"Michael Vaughan recently made a statement that the Indian team is underachievers. Yes, we haven't won an ICC trophy in a while, and we call ourselves the powerhouse of the game. But that's just one side of the coin," Ashwin said in a video blog.

Thumping the back of his teammates, and recalling whatever the team has achieved after unaccountable hard work, the 37-year-old said the team has delivered excellent results across the world in the last few years, especially in the red ball format.

"Our Test team has been one of the best traveling teams at present. We have seen many great results. After Vaughan made that statement, so many experts from our own country started debating if India is an underachieving team. Frankly, it made me laugh," he said.

Recently, during a show on Fox Sports, Vaughan said the Indian cricket team should have achieved more on the field, particularly in the ICC events, considering the resources at their disposal.
