Smriti Mandhana’s Fiancé Palash Muchhal Hospitalised in Mumbai; Wedding Remains On Hold

World Cup-winning cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal were scheduled to get married on Sunday in Maharashtra's Sangli, but the ceremony was postponed after Mandhana's father was hospitalised. Subsequently, the groom, Palash Muchhal, was also admitted due to health concerns.

On Tuesday, sources provided an update on Palash Muchhal's condition. They told NDTV that he, who was initially admitted to a hospital in Sangli, has now been shifted to SVR Hospital in Goregaon, Mumbai. According to insiders, his hectic travel schedule for concerts and frequent wedding performances caused severe stress, which eventually impacted his health.

On Monday night, Palash's sister and playback singer Palak Muchhal issued a statement via her Instagram Stories, confirming that the wedding had been "put on hold" for now.

"Due to Smriti's dad's health, Smriti and Palash's wedding has been put on hold. We request all of you to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time," she wrote.

Smriti Mandhana also fuelled speculation when she deleted all wedding-related posts from her Instagram account. While reports had suggested the couple would marry later this month, Mandhana officially confirmed the engagement last week by sharing a video in which she revealed her ring and danced with her teammates to the popular Lage Raho Munna Bhai song Samjho Ho Hi Gaya.

Both Mandhana and Palash later shared multiple photos from their pre-wedding celebrations on social media.

The couple has been together for nearly six years and made their relationship Instagram official last year.
