Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)'s 47 Crore Worth Players Resting On Bench

Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) has not been a really good season for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who made several big changes including a correction in the city's name in their title. Players did not perform up to the expectations resulting in team's back-to-back defeats and heartbreaking moments for fans most of the time. RCB, who did not win a single trophy in the last 16 IPL editions, was expected to perform well as the franchise's women's team won the WPL cup this season.

However, the RCB men's team failed to change their fortunes for them. The team failed almost in every aspect of the game, be it batting, bowling or fielding. Forget about the individual performances, the team could not even put on a collective show to impress fans except for the previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, when Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik tried hard to fight back, but could not avoid the defeat. The SRH vs RCB match was a historic game as Hyderabad set IPL's highest score, while it was a nightmare for RCB bowlers, who conceded a big score.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru RCB s Virat Kohil and Faf du Plessis

Following shambolic performances team management and skipper Faf du Plessis' decisions were criticised by fans and former cricketers. Ex-Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player Abhinav Mukund slammed the RCB team for not picking Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Mohammed Siraj in the side.

Taking it to social media, Mukud said 17.5+11.5+11+7 crore on the bench for RCB".

Former CSK players trolling sparked debate online and suggestions for RCB to make big changes in the team started surfacing online. A social media user advised RCB management to change the leadership and give team reins to Virat Kohli. While many suggested that Faf should focus on his batting only.

However, the big shocker came in for RCB when Maxwell announced indefinite unavailability for IPL citing mental and physical health. However, cricket fans linked this decision with the senior player's integrity and self-respect after he was dropped from the side.
