Skipper Rohit Sharma also announced his retirement from T20 international on this special day. In the post-match press conference, Rohit Sharma said, "This was my last game as well."

"I've enjoyed it since the time I started playing this format. No better time to say goodbye to this format. I've loved every moment of this. This is what I wanted - I wanted to win the cup," he added amid a loud round of applause.

Minutes before Rohit Sharma, India's ace batter Virat Kohli also announced his retirement saying that this is the right time to make way for young talent.
