Rishabh Pant's Never Give Up Spirit! Left-Hander Scores A Fifity With Knee Heavily Strapped In Ind Vs NZ Test
Despite a knee injury, India's young wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant came out to bat at No.5 position in India's second innings during India vs New Zealand Bengaluru test. In the first inning, a speeding ball ball hit Rishabh Pant at the same spot, where he had accident scares. Despite being in pain, Rishabh Pant came out to bat to rescue Team India and scored a much-needed half-century.
Before the start of Day 4, there were speculation about Rishabh Pant's participation due to his knee injury sustained on Day 2. He had not played on Day 3, raising doubts about his availability. During the tea break on Day 3, Pant was seen practicing batting, but it was unclear if he would bat.

Rishabh Pant's Determination Amidst Injury
On the morning of Day 4, Pant was observed warming up with light jogging and his knee heavily strapped. To everyone's relief, he joined Sarfaraz Khan on the field shortly after. His presence boosted India's hopes as they faced a significant challenge from New Zealand.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier updated that Pant wouldn't play on Day 3 due to medical monitoring. Dhruv Jurel substituted as wicketkeeper during this time. Rohit Sharma confirmed that Pant's injured knee was the same one operated on after a car accident last year.
New Zealand's Dominance and India's Response
In the first innings, Pant was India's top scorer with 20 runs as they were dismissed for just 46 runs, their lowest home total. Meanwhile, New Zealand secured a commanding lead of 356 runs thanks to Rachin Ravindra's century and half-centuries from Devon Conway and Tim Southee.
Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant began confidently on Day 4, aiming to reduce New Zealand's lead. The Indian team hoped for a spirited comeback despite challenging conditions and an uphill task ahead.
Pant's resilience and determination were evident as he took to the field despite his injury concerns. His performance was crucial for India as they sought to turn the game around against a strong New Zealand side.
